New edition of the course textbook
Prof. Purves et al. are currently working on a new edition of ‘Neuroscience’, the course textbook . For the sixth edition of a lot of new images are being added to make the neuroscience concepts even more clear.
We know Prof. Purves as instructor of the course ‘Visual Perception and the Brain‘.
The new edition and the course Medical Neuroscience
Prof. White will be working on a new edition of the course, based on the 6th edition of ‘Neuroscience’ , the course textbook, which is currently scheduled for release early 2017. Unit 1 on Neuroanatomy will have new anatomical videos, including more content from MRI. Unit 6 will feature expanded coverage of cognitive neuroscience, incorporating content from the second edition of Dr. Purves and colleagues other major textbook, Principles of Cognitive Neuroscience.
Prof. White has given more information about the new edition of the textbook: “I am particularly excited about the major updates to the final unit of the text on “Complex Brain Functions” that will include expanded coverage of topics in contemporary cognitive neuroscience. I am eager to build new tutorials for Medical Neuroscience based on the foundation provided in this unit of the 6th edition. Cognitive neuroscience is — arguably — the most rapidly advancing domain of knowledge in the brain sciences and I am excited to see the book and the course revised to include new lessons on decision making, social cognition, and cognitive maps, to name a few.”
A lot of former students of Medical Neuroscience have expressed the wish to have more information on Cognition. Probably students that have taken the course in the past are eager to watch the new content when it appears.
