Oxford University Press gives free access to books and journals during the COVID-19 pandemic- (offer has expired)
Oxford University Press (OUP) made all resources on SARS-CoV-2, the new corona virus causing COVID-19, freely accessible to all working to address the pandemic.
Many universities around the world have moved all courses online because of COVID-19. To help students who may be displaced from their books, OUP is giving free access to books and other educational material to support distance learning. This includes Professor White’s textbook, Neuroscience, Sixth Edition.
Free access to Sylvius 4 for students in Medical Neuroscience
And now, OUP is also making Sylvius software available through May 30th. Professor White made a special request for FREE access to Sylvius4 Online for anyone who is learning Medical Neuroscience now on Coursera. Sylvius4 Online is a digital atlas of the human central nervous system created by Professor White and his collaborator, Mark Williams. This software is featured in several lessons in Medical Neuroscience. Below is a look how the software is organized.
COVIID-19 Access to Sylvius 4: Free Access through May 30th.
Professor White is grateful to OUP for making available for FREE this resource for learning Medical Neuroscience. To access Sylvius4 Online through this special offer, follow the instructions outlined below.
FIRST, click here and then click on “Buy or Redeem Access Code”. That should take you to a second webpage.
SECOND, on this next webpage, input oup-assist-100 into the text field. Then, click the “recalculate” button at the bottom of the window. That should show the full discount in effect. Next, click the “checkout” button. That should take you to another webpage.
THIRD, on this next webpage, you will create an account with OUP. This will involve inputting standard details (name, email address, new password, etc.). To do this, click on “Create a new account”. Once you have an account with OUP, you may proceed to View Your Cart and Checkout (at $0).
FINALLY, once you complete those steps, you should check your inbox for an email from support@sinauer.com. That email will include a link to create an account with Sinauer. Once you create that account with Sinauer, you will (finally!) have your personal code for accessing Sylvius4 Online.
This free acces is no longer available after the first wave of COVID-19
Sylvius4 Online is an excellent resource for learning Medical Neuroscience. But it is not the only one! Other resources that may complement Sylvius can be found on the page Learning Materials . Virtual Lab: General resources and on the page Virtual Lab: Neuroanatomy
